BANGKOK – CHIANG RAI & CHIANG MAI – 6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS
Our journey starts in Bangkok with an exploration of its fascinating city temples. We then head north to the Golden Triangle, an area encompassing Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, famed for its historic drug trade. From here we enjoy a leisurely boat ride to see local life for Thai and Laos people along the border.
We also explore nearby hilltribe villages such as the ethnic Karen and Lahu (Muser) along the banks of the River Kok. Guests can also voyage through the overgrown forests on the bank of an elephant just as many locals have done for centuries before visiting the stunning White Temple (Wat Rong Khun).
In Mae Sa Valley we visit an orchid farm named Sai Nam Phung. The manicured gardens here are truly stunning. The area is also known for its local handicraft factories, where we can see lacquer work, silk fabrics and traditional paper umbrella being made.
Trip Schedule
Day 1
Arrive in Bangkok and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2
Tour Bangkoks most famous and intriguing temples, including the colossal Reclining Buddha.
Day 3 Bangkok – Chiang Rai
Visit the Golden Triangle and take a leisurely boat ride to see local life along the river.
Day 4 Chiang Rai
Explore the nearby ethnic hilltribes, enjoy a natural elephant ride and visit Wat Rong Khun.
Day 5 Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai
Today we head to a responsible elephant camp to see them in their natural environment before visiting traditional handicraft factories to see how local goods are made.
Day 6 Chiang Mai – Bangkok
Transfer to Chiang Mai airport following breakfast.
