BANGKOK AND BEYOND (WHITE TEMPLE AND LONG NECK TRIBE) – 9 DAYS / 8 NIGHTS
We begin with a visit to three of the most unusual Buddhist temples in Bangkok: Wat Trimitr with its invaluable Golden Buddha (5 ½ tons of solid gold) – Wat Po, the most extensive temple in Bangkok with its colossal Reclining Buddha and the Chedis of the Kings.
The Grand Palace is also visited, one of the most beautiful samples of an ancient Siamese court and former residence of the Kings of Thailand. On this tour we also visit Kanchanaburi to travel on the historical ‘Death Train’, a remnant from World War II.
Our journey then takes us north through Ayutthaya, an ancient former capital, strewn with historical monuments, and Lopburi, home to the Monkey Temple. Our journey continues through central Thailand until we reach Chiang Mai, home to the legendary White Temple, and beyond this, the Golden Traingle where remote ethnic tribes live such as the Yao and Akha people.
