Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia embody the beauty of Southeast Asia and provide a window into some of the region’s most fascinating history. Our Grand Indochina tour of these three exceptional countries commences in the historical UNESCO city of Luang Prabang, nestled in the temple strewn hills of Northern Laos. From here we cross east to the stunning capital of Vietnam and picturesque streets of Hanoi before traveling south through Vietnam and into bordering Cambodia.

You will discover the region’s spectacular range of cuisine, the flavors changing as you cross borders. Meet local communities on your journey as you gain an appreciation for life here. We cruise rivers and seas to visit remote villages, explore vibrant markets and learn about the array of fascinating historical monuments that are found across this magnificent corner of Asia.

Tour Schedule

Day 1: Arrival at Luang Prabang 

Arrival at Luang Prabang and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Luang Prabang

We visit the National Museum, Wat Xieng and Mount Phousi before taking a boat along the Mekong River at dusk.

Day 3: Luang Prabang – Kuangsi Waterfall – Hanoi

This morning we wake early to witness the offering of alms to monks. We then visit the majestic Kuang Sii Waterfalls before departing for Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi

Embark on a tour of Hanoi to visit a number of special sites of interest, including the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh.

Day 5: Hanoi – Halong

From Hanoi we drive to Halong Bay and board a junk that sails through this fascinating seascape, spending the night onboard.

Day 6: Halong – Hanoi – Hoi An

After returning to Hanoi we board a flight to Danang where we then transfer to Hoi An.

Day 7: Hoi An 

Highlights today on our tour of Hoi An include visiting the 400 year old Japanese bridge.

Day 8: Hoi An – Da Nang – Hue

In Hue we visit the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945.

Day 9: Hue

After breakfast we take a boat trip along the Perfume River and visit two very important religious sites.

Day 10: Hue – Ho Chi Minh

Today we visit the Cu Chi tunnels, a remnant from the war, and see the impressive Notre Dame.

Day 11: Ho Chi Min – Siem Reap 

Fly to Siem Reap and enjoy a local meal at a nearby restaurant.

Day 12: Siem Reap – Angkor

This morning we visit the temples of Banteay Srey and Bantey Samre.

Day 13: Siem Reap – Phnom Penh

In the morning we continue exploring the temples of Angkor before taking an afternoon flight to Phnom Penh.

Day 14: Phnom Penh

Explore a selection of the capital’s most significant monuments before departing for the airport in the afternoon.
